Honey bees live together in large groups. One hive can up to 60,000 bees, but only one of them is the queen. Her job is to lay eggs. Most of the other bees are workers. They fly from flower to flower to food, and they also keep the hive clean. In summer a worker bee only lives for about six weeks, and it is for all of that time. Bees are important for farmers, too. When they visit flowers, they help plants to fruit and seeds. In many countries the number of bees is getting , and scientists are trying to find out why. You can help by flowers in your garden or on your balcony.
